When you drive by the Airport on I-75 or approach the airport on Piper Rd. from Jones Loop Rd., you will see lots of cattle and some horses peacefully grazing on a wide expanse of land. Most of the property belongs to someone else, not the Airport. The Airport does lease out some property as agricultural property for two reasons,
the property is in a flight path and cannot be used for business or commercial development, and
the property is designated for specific future growth needs of the airport and leasing out the property might jeopardize the ability of the airport to meet those future requirements.
